What You'll Need:
- 3-4 sheets of lined paper (I know mine looks special, but this is just regular lined paper- like the stuff you take notes on)
- 1 sheet of card-stock paper (a little heavier/thicker)
- 1 sheet of scrapbook paper
- 1 sheet of any paper of your choice, for the binding (preferably thicker)
- Ruler
- Stapler
- Scissors/exacto knife/ anything that cuts well
- Glue stick
1. Take your sheets of paper and cut at the first line on your lined paper. Make sure to cut exact on each sheet, otherwise your book will look a little wonky.
2. Now cut off the side of the paper with the holes. Cut along the line down the page, this is usually a pink line.
3. Then, fold your page in half.
4. Using the fold as a guideline, cut your pages in half.
5. Then, place one of your lined pages over the heavier sheet of card stock. Mark 1/4 in past your page of lined paper, and cut the card stock.
6. Fold all your pages in half, including the card stock.
7. Place all your pages inside each other, with the card stock on the outside.
8. Then staple the center of your book at the top and at the bottom. If you mess up and don't get it in the exact center, pull the staple out and staple again - it's important to get it in the exact center!
9. Then cut the scrapbook paper the size of your cover.
10. Cut the scrapbook paper in half, then glue it on the cover of your book.
11. Now it's time to cut the binding. This is the height of your book, and two inches wide. After it is cut, fold it in half.
12. Then glue the binding on the book. Walah! We have a little book!
To make it an account book:
13. Add Date, Description, + (deposit), - (withdraw), and Balance, putting vertical lines after each one. Now you have a simple way of keeping track of your money- and it fits great in a purse or back pocket!
Add your design and personalize it! The possibilities of this little book is endless! If you don't want lines, just use regular printing paper, and just cut the pages in half - this will give you a little bigger book.
With Love,
Cath
This could make a cute journal! Though I doubt it could be very thick?
ReplyDeleteIt would make a cute little one, for sure! Though I wouldn't do more than 6-8 pages for this book, because the staples can't handle much more than that. :)
